Terminology-Investing in quality

The acronym IATE (Inter Active Terminology for Europe) refers to a terminology database provided by the European Union that aims to help in the translation and interpretation in certain areas of the European institutions, promoting terminological accuracy, consistency and quality in multilingual communication.

The information provided on the IATE page of the EU domain is available since 2007 to everyone, bringing together the terminological resources of the translation services of the EU, thus giving uniformity to the translations regarding the EU institutions and bodies. This information is very useful to all translators, because it allows the access to the IATE page and consequently we can get a correct translation for several situations concerning the EU space.
